Job description

Duties and responsibilities:
Handling fishing activities, safe operation of dock machinery and safe berthing and unberthing of vessel. Setting and retrieving fish traps. Maintenance of vessel and Fishing gear as directed. Handling and packing of fish product. Berthing and harbour side manoeuvring. Cleaning and sanitizing of vessel before, during and after fishing trips.

Skills and Requirements:
Must have at least 2 years in the last 5 years documented commercial fishing experience. Preference will be given to applicants with pot fishing history and/or certificates of competency. Must be able to pass regular drug test, physically fit and able to work long hours in close multi-cultural team. Applicant required to work in tropical conditions. Must be able to provide written reference from previous fishing industry employer.

Applicants with no commercial fishing experience or Australian work right will NOT be considered for this position. Please do not apply if unable to meet application criteria.

Applicant must have or be prepared to apply for WA Commercial Fisherman’s license.

Position Info

Salary: $70,000 P/A
Hours: Full time

– two months on/one month off, Kimberley and Pilbara regions, North West Australia
